“She shows up.”

Ted Donaldson, USAF Retired · Joplin

Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of getting to know Senator Jill Carter not just as a public official, but as a person of character, conviction, and genuine compassion. It is with great confidence and enthusiasm that I offer my wholehearted endorsement of her.

One of the things I appreciate most about Jill is that she has never forgotten why she sought public office in the first place—to serve the people of Southwest Missouri. Long before she was elected to the Missouri Senate, she was already investing her own time and resources advocating for the issues she believed would strengthen our communities. That same servant’s heart continues to define her today.

As someone who values those who have worn our nation’s uniform, I have been especially grateful for Jill’s steadfast support of Missouri’s veterans. She understands that honoring our veterans means more than expressing gratitude on holidays—it means standing beside them, listening to their concerns, and working to ensure they receive the respect, care, and opportunities they have earned through their service. Veterans know they have a friend and an advocate in Senator Carter.

Jill has also become a respected leader in the Missouri Senate. She approaches every challenge with preparation, integrity, and a willingness to do the hard work necessary to move Missouri forward. Her colleagues recognize her leadership, and her constituents benefit from the thoughtful, principled way she represents our district.

If I had to describe Jill in just a few words, I would say this: she shows up. She shows up for veterans. She shows up for families. She shows up for community events, local organizations, schools, churches, and businesses. She shows up when people have questions, when communities face challenges, and when important decisions must be made. In today’s political climate, that kind of consistent presence is rare, but it is exactly what Jill has demonstrated throughout her service.

Perhaps more importantly, when Jill shows up, she listens. She takes the time to hear people, even when they may not agree on every issue. She treats everyone with respect and believes that effective leadership begins with understanding the people you represent.

It has been an honor to know and work alongside Senator Jill Carter. I have seen firsthand her commitment to serving others, her unwavering integrity, and her determination to do what she believes is right for the people of Senate District 32 and the State of Missouri.

I am proud to call Jill Carter my friend, and I wholeheartedly endorse her continued service in the Missouri Senate. I can think of no one more deserving of the trust and confidence of the citizens she represents.
